ISAIAH is a runaway slave who eludes hunters as he embarks on a perilous journey across the American South.  He soon finds refuge among the Seminole Indians who themselves are in the midst of turmoil with U.S. soldiers.  Desperate for a safe haven, Isaiah leads Seminole Blacks and Indians to freedom in Mexico.
